Hair Implants For Women

There are new and exciting ways for women to get hair growing in a bald spot again. Historically, it has been very difficult for a woman to get hair implants because of the fact that it requires a good donor area. Without a good donor area it was impossible to find the hair follicles needed for the procedure. It used to be that a section of scalp would be removed from the head and the hair units harvested from this strip. With men this was a very good solution because a man generally has good hair growth on the posterior area of the head even if he is completely bald on the top and down the side. This is because of the way the genetic aspects of hair loss interact to cause problems.
This area of good hair growth allowed the hair surgeon to remove a strip and then suture it up. This wound was covered by the resulting hair growth so it didn't really matter. Hair implants for women on the the other had were very difficult because a woman generally does not have good hair growth over amy part of her scalp. She usually suffers from thinning hair along with bald spots. Now that individual hair shafts and units can be removed this is no longer a big problem. In fact hair implants is getting to be the preferred method of hair restoration for women.
